چکیده

Workover of natural gas wells in deep carbonate reservoirs (DCRs) is facing multiple challenges such as fluid leakage, high temperature, and hydrogen sulfide (H2S) kick. Hence, well-killing fluids with satisfactory plugging ability, high-temperature tolerance, anti-H2S ability are necessary. In this study, we developed a multifunctional anti-hydrogen fuzzy-ball kill (AFKF) for preventing sour kicks DCRs. The performance the AFKF was optimized analyzed via experiments verified through case study application. results showed that structures AFKFs demonstrated good stability under extreme H2S aging. rate change certain critical rheological parameters apparent viscosity, dynamic plastic ratio, density before after hot rolling were no more than 5%. After fractures at temperatures between 110°C 150°C, inlet driving pressure increased from 20.73°C to 21.07 MPa, loss observed core outlet secondary displacement formation water. permeability recovery greater 90%. Application well DW-2 shut-in rose 24.6 MPa trace wellhead 4 days. investigation mitigation mechanisms revealed seepage channels by forms interconnected bonds improve mechanical properties reservoir. Additionally, absorb gases protonation dissociation reactions which convert hazardous into an aqueous solution ions (S2?). proposed has proven be effective means mitigating DCRs, minimize negative impacts environmental polution, health risks, equipment corrosion.

Compressibility Factor for Sour Gas Reservoirs

This paper presents the initial stage of an effort aimed at developing a new correlation to estimate pseudo critical properties for sour gas when the exact composition is not known. Several mixing rules and gas gravity correlations available in the literature are first evaluated and compared. The evaluation is performed on a large database consisting of more than 2000 samples of sour gas compos...

Carbon Dioxide Storage in Natural Gas Reservoirs

Carbon Dioxide Storage in Natural Gas Reservoir — The general idea of CO2 disposal in gas reservoirs is that the underground volume of the ultimately recoverable hydrocarbons (gas and condensate) is replaced by CO2. This paper investigates the feasibility of carbon dioxide disposal in depleted gas reservoirs. Gas reservoirs are a practical storage site for the carbon dioxide, because the presen...

Measurement of Mass Transfer Coefficients of Natural Gas Mixture during Gas Hydrate Formation

In this study, mass transfer coefficients (MTC’s) of natural gas components during hydrate formation are reported. This work is based on the assumption that the transport of gas molecules from gas phase to aqueous phase is dominant among other resistances. Several experiments were conducted on a mixture of natural gas at different pressures and temperatures and the consumed gas was monitored an...
